YORKSHIRE STANDARD SCALE OF POINTS

SIZE: Length 172 mm (63/4inch) or more with corresponding symmetrical proportions.

Point Value: 10  

SHAPE:

Head: Full round neat and cleanly defined; with no tendency to flatness on top nore narrowness between the eyes, which should be bold, and so placed as near center of the head as possible. The beak should be small and neat in proportion to the head.

Neck: Short, well filled in all round giving a solid appearance.

 

Point value:  15  

Body: Shoulders high and round in each direction; carried well up to, and gradually merging into the head. The back also should be well filled and rounded.

Chest: Full and deep, corresponding to width and rise of the shoulders and carried up full to the base of the beak. It should be nicely rounded and smooth, tapering gradually toward the waist.

Waist: Fine and rounded, with a long gradual tapering away behind the legs to the tail, which should be give the appearance of a slight lift behind.

Point value: 10  

POSITION::

Attitude erect with fearless carriage, angle 65° (e.g. 25 past 11 by the clock), with the tail at all times being held firmly up against the wing tips so that it is impossible to see light between the two

Legs: Long and well placed without being stilty

Point value:  25  

FEATHER: Close, short tight fine in quality and texture, free from frill or roughness.

Wings: Closely carried and long, neither crossing at the tips nor being held apart.

Tail: Long and closely packed.

Point value: 20  

COLOUR: Rich Pure and as even as possible throughout, with due consideration being given to depth as may be produced by colour feeding.: Alert, quick lively movement

Point value: 10  

CONDITION : Health, cleanliness and roundness of feather("Soundness" in this instance means feather which is not broken nor damaged in any other way

Point value: 10  

TOTAL POINTS : 100
